Janet (2014)


Janet, inspired by the Scottish faerie legend of Tam Lin, explores traditional themes of the mythic hero's journey from a contemporary feminist perspective. Made for seasoned dancer Janet Charleston, the work, with costumes by Ciera Wells, was originally created to be performed in Douglas Dunn's loft studio at 541 Broadway in SoHo and premièred there from June 13th-15th, 2014. The work was subsequently performed at Socrates Sculpture Park and at the 92nd Street Y.
