Cemiyon Barber (dancer)
Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Cemiyon Barber graduated from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance in 2018. Since then, he has had the pleasure of dancing for choreographers Bill T. Jones, Austin McCormick, Megan Williams, Liz Gerring, and Christopher Williams. The young dancer is also featured in fashion editorials for Vogue Russia & Numero Berlin Magazine, and recently made guest TV appearances on PBS Social and MTV networks. Just before the pandemic, Cemiyon was dancing the principal role of Company XIV's newest production Seven Sins.
Cemiyon Barber is originally from Jackson, Mississippi, and began training at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California. From there, he moved on to study at the SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Dance where he was fortunate enough to dance works by classical and modern choreographers such as George Balanchine, Merce Cunningham, Jose Limon, and Martha Graham. Since graduating, Cemiyon has had the pleasure of dancing for choreographers such as Bill T. Jones, Liz Gerring, Vladimir Varnava, Dylan Crossman, and Christopher Williams. He has also been recently featured in fashion editorials for Vogue Russia Magazine & Numero Berlin Magazine, while making small television appearances on networks like PBS Social and MTV. Cemiyon is currently cast in the principal role of Company XIV's newest production Seven Sins.
